Ph.D. Candidate in Economics, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta with Prof. Sourav Bhattacharya. My research interests are Political Economy, Microeconomic Theory, and Game Theory. My job market paper develops a signaling model of conflict delegation, explaining why states empower domestic violent actors despite the risk of political blowback. Moreover, my research also explores the political economy of identity, with a focus on how identity and group-specific issues impact political competition and campaigns.
I completed my M.Sc. in Economics from IIT Roorkee, where I wrote my master's thesis under the supervision of Prof. Rachita Gulati. I completed my B.Sc. in Mathematics from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Beyond academics, I play and follow Chess and Cricket. I also like to solve Chess puzzles and puzzles in general.
